Eating fast is bad for your health and makes you fat. And it promotes obesity and diabetes. It emerges from several scientific studies on the relationship between the habit of ingesting food in a great hurry and some diseases.

Researchers at the Lithuanian University Institute of Endocrinology recently showed in a paper published in Clinical Nutrition that eating fast increases the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Eating fast deactivates signals of fullness

The causal mechanism is in the deactivation of fullness signals. A thesis confirmed by the study that appeared in the journal of the American Dietetic Association, which screened the caloric intake of meals as a function of the rate of ingestion. Eating slowly has been shown to help achieve satiety more quickly and keep weight at bay.

The same goal was the focus of the survey proposed in the Japanese Journal of Epidemiology. Conducted on about 5 thousand adults, it shows that eating fast has negative effects on body mass index (Bmi) and its evolution from the age of 20 years. And it increases the risk of obesity.
