Suqqo, cold-pressed and processed juices
Suqqo products are made through processes that-according to company reports-allow the best possible preservation of the organoleptic properties of the raw materials used, seasonal fruits and vegetables. No added water, preservatives, dyes or sugars. There are two process steps that Suqqo proposes to stand out in terms of innovation:
– Cold pressing, which is suitable for preserving the properties of plants optimally compared to other extraction processes,
– the HPP(High Pressure Processing) treatment, or ‘grazing’, at low temperature, thanks to which it is possible to extend the ‘shelf-life‘ of juices up to 50 days without resorting to pasteurization, which instead causes deterioration of vitamins and alteration of the original flavor of fresh vegetables. The Suqqo range offers various sets of combinations, the consumption of which are offered at different times of the day. ‘Wake Up‘, mix of pineapple, pear, fuji apple, ginger, is thus referred to as ‘energizing‘. ‘Time Out‘, a combination of strawberry, orange, apple, jasmine green tea, is instead proposed as a ‘vitamin recharge‘. (2) And so on, depending on the seasonal ingredients and fruits used.
Suqqo, the campaign of
crowdfunding
Suqqo Ltd. was founded by Edoardo Varetto, a graduate in Mixology London. The decision to open the company to new investors-through the
crowdfunding
organized by the platform WeAreStarting
(authorized by Consob since 2014) – is to combine financial and marketing operation.
Valued at one million euros, in the investment proposal, Suqqo aspires to raise 210,000 euros (17.36 percent of the company’s shares) through subscription of shares with a minimum amount of 500 euros. Investment in startups offers subscribers a 40 percent tax benefit. It is also possible to choose the mode of heading the shares on behalf of a third party, through a designated intermediary (the financial company Directa SIM).
There are currently about ten outlets where Suqqo products can be purchased or tasted (including Eataly).
Notes
(1) High-pressure treatments (or hyperbaric treatments) are performed on the packaged product (in the Pet bottle, for example). It deactivates bacteria, molds, yeasts, and parasites naturally present in food, without affecting the vitamin content. The Italian agribusiness industry is beginning to employ this technology. Among the first are Apulian Masseria Fruttirossi, a leading pomegranate grower whose ‘Lome Super Fruit‘ brand sells pure juice treated with an HPP plant purchased in 2018
