Italy is confirmed as the first country in Europe in terms of the number of alerts sent to RASFF (Rapid Alert System on Food and Feed), the EU food safety alert system. In 2015, Italy reported 511 alerts to the EU network, 17.2 percent of those reported by the 28 EU member states. A sign of good organization and implementation of official public controls on the agribusiness chain.
