The text, which is rich in sources and references to studies and analyses, encapsulates information that reveals the true role of GMOs. A “gigantic fraud of the’Corporations’who, behind false promises of ‘evolution,’ use Genetically Modified Organisms as a mere ‘Trojan horse’ to achieve direct dominance over global production of basic agricultural commodities,” writes Dario Dongo.
The paper is the result of research conducted by the author while participating in the dialectical dispute on GMOs, organized at Expo, in the Palace of Biodiversity, on July 10. And it goes over the key points to learn more about the GMO phenomenon.
In the first few pages, the sketch summarizes what a genetically modified organism is, according to the definitions of the FAO (the UN agency for food and agriculture) and the European Union; where it is found equalizing crops it affects.
The text then illustrates the extent of the threat of the “Smoke Gray Revolution,” namely the impact of pesticides–a business 4 times more profitable than mere GMO seeds, to which it is closely linked–on the environmentand human health. Effects already evident, such as soil poisoning and diseases suffered by populations exposed to these substances. And, data in hand, it belies the “false paradigm of increasing yields” used to spread genetically modified seeds.
The paper concludes with a description of the scenario. The plans of the biotech giants and the initiatives underway around the world to curb them. Initiatives worthy of interest and participation, hopes Dario Dongo, who denounces the massive assault on the environment and the health of humanity initiated by the spread of genetically modified organisms. “Just force the supply chain to depend on its own means, and control over green gold can extend to various other aspects of economics, politics, society. Imperialism. Sine care of the devastation of the planet and its ecosystems, the health of populations and animals,” declares the founder of the portalwww.greatitalianfoodtrade.it, which waves the flag of sustainable and quality Made in Italy to combat the degeneration of globalized agribusiness production.
The text, disseminated free of charge through the Great Italian Food Trade portal, is proposed by the author as a tool for information, reflection and struggle. A flywheel to nurture revolt. To create a critical mass capable of opposing the “big scam” of GMOs.
